John Lah Technology Scholarship









Scholarship Name: John Lah Sr. Technology Education Scholarship

Scholarship Description: Each school year, a one thousand dollar cash award will be made to one graduating senior from Westerville North High School.

 Scholarship Criteria: In general, this award will be targeted toward students that intend to major in a technology related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electrical Engineering.

Specifically, the following evaluation criteria will be used:

 Selection Process: A board consisting of Westerville North faculty and leaders from the technology industry will award the scholarship each year. Thomas E. Lah will chair the board.  Board members for the 1802-1803 school year:

 Scholarship Objectives:  This scholarship is designed to raise student awareness of the career potential in technology related industries. Currently, statistics demonstrate a significant gap between the number of technology related jobs and the number of qualified candidates that can fill them.  This scholarship is also intended to encourage a dialogue between school faculty and industry leaders regarding the skills required by graduating students to succeed in a technology saturated work environment.
